What is your role and what do you do day to day?

 

My Role at HCFP is that of Senior IFA Administrator, acting as the primary support to the team. Daily tasks include general administration, such as maintaining client files and liaising with providers, to more research-based aspects, such as conducting research and creating reports, to processing applications.

​How did you get into the profession? 

 

I started working in financial services in 2017 as an Office Junior for a directly authorised firm working out of Mapplewell, Barnsley. I worked there for a number of years building my knowledge and experience which allowed me to progress through a variety of different roles within the company as my understanding developed. Ultimately, this culminated with me working alongside the Managing Director as his Compliance Administrator. In early 2024, I joined HCFP taking on my current role. This provided me with the opportunity to apply all of the skills garnered over the years to use in one role. 

 

What do you enjoy most about working at HCFP?

 

I enjoy working at HCFP because the role is dynamic and no two days are ever the same. HCFP's client focused approach also aligns with my personal belief that the needs and objectives of the people we deal with should always come first.

 

What are your main specialisms?

 

My role doesn’t lend itself to specialisation as such. Instead, it relies upon me having a good understanding of the industry, and work involved in all areas.

What do you like to do outside of work?

 

Outside of work I'm a family man. Having three young boys means that there is little time to rest! On the rare occasions I do find some time for myself, I'm a keen football fan (Sheffield Wednesday FC) and I enjoy watching movies, particularly sci-fi and fantasy.

 

What is your ‘go to’ karaoke song?

 

I do not have a go-to Karaoke song, being a strong believer that singing should be left to those people talented enough to do the song justice!
